The artwork below is by Stamp Artist: Barbara Hoeft
The card was for her youngest daughter's Wedding Anniversary.
The beautiful samples below were done by Stamp Artist Debi Wind. She has contributed 10 new sample art pieces featuring the AL=Art of Living Wedding-related images. Click on either side (left to purchase), or (right for Art) to view more.
Background cardstock is Elan Metallic in bronze (very new line).
Cindy says: "I added copper Mica Magic reinker by Clear Snap, spray glitter and black webbing spray by Krylon to background cardstock.
The tiger is stamped onto High Gloss white by WorldWin and then framed with Quartz White Elan Metallic and Treasures True Black cardstock. Ranger Distressed Inks by Tim Holtz were used to tint the glossy image with Spiced Marmalade, Dried Marigold, Scattered Straw and the eyes were tinted with Mustard Seed and Dried Marigold. I added gold mesh ribbon and gold photo corners. Edges are trimmed with gold Krylon pen. "
Stamp Artist: Michi Michaelson
Michi tells how this art piece was created:
I sliced a 4" piece off of a 4 X 1/16 X 36" piece of balsa wood from the craft store (I got the idea from a CHA demo at Kodomo, Inc.)
I stamped most of the horses in the background (all would not fit nicely) with Brilliance Lightning Black Ink . . . I used clear embossing powder and heat set the images . . .
The main focus horse was stamped with Brilliance Graphite Black Ink . . . again, heat set with clear embossing powder . . .
The Horse Asian character was stamped with Colorbox Scarlet pigment ink . . . also heat set with clear embossing powder . . .
I then used my metal ruler and craft knife and sliced wood horizontally in one inch strips.
Black crochet thread was draped over the top of the wood, then weaved in and out of the strips . . . regular cellophane tape was used to secure the back as I wove the thread . . . the bottom was knotted and wooden decorative beads attached . . .
The wood was layered onto gold tissue pape, red cardstock, and purchased black washi paper . . .
The card front was then adhered to folded cardstock . . .

"You mentioned wanting to try a watercolour effect yourself. Well I did that on the black Moon-gazing koi card - with proper watercolours. I think it was a nice effect. It doesn't show up quite so well when scanned but it looks just like a spotted fish skin. I just mixed up some medium strength watercolour paint, spread it on the stamp and stamped the image. I've never done that before. Great fun though!"

Just a few of the latest images
from the Oriental Aura Collection
Plate #7700
Both images above stamped with Colorbox Chalk: Warm Red (l) and Prussion Blue (r)
Displayed here are scans of the actual stamped images. The unmounted rubber stamps were first backed with foam cushion and then stamped with Colorbox Chalk Ink - in Charcoal onto either white or pale yellow matte cover-weight cardstock.
The Bamboo-n-Birds [TR-4610] was done on inexpensive children's watercolor paper called Strathmore KIDS series Paint Pad. I used to be able to purchase it at Michael's and Joann's, but haven't seen it there lately . . . my local art supply store Pearl Paint Co. http://www.peartpaint.com carries them in stock.
First I stamped the Bamboo-n-birds with black pigment ink and then embossed with black embossing powder . . .
The background is done with Dee Gruenig/ Marvy Blending Blox one in blues, one in purples, and one in pinks . . . I used her recommended 2" rubber brayer on them . . . lightly spritzed them with water . . . and brayered them in diagonals so that they looked like landscape in the background . . . this was done OVER the main embossed image . . .
I carefully cut around the main image in the shape of a rectangle . . . I layered behind the the main image and adhered it to the original background that was left over to carry the landscape background design onto the frame . . .
I used LumiArte Twinkling H2O's for the main image . . . added gold thread and brads for embellishments . . .
