The vertical kanji format is designed to be used multiple ways:  the characters alone, characters w/frame, characters/frame and name, characters and name, or name only.  Stamp a piece of transparency or acetate with StazOn and cut out inside the frame.  Lay the transparency over the rubber die as a mask, then ink the portions you want to use. Wash off the mask and save for future use. The frame enclosing the kanji characters measure: 3/4" wide x 1-1/8"* high .
